QuakeCon 2003 Registration Opens

sYn pHrEAk writes "Monday, June 9th at 9:00pm EST has been announced as the opening date and time of registration for the world's best LAN party (is it a WAN party?). Last year's QuakeCon included over 1300 people and computers in the BYOC area and well over 3,000 attendees. This year there's $125,000 on the line through three official tournaments: Quake 3 1v1, Quake 3 CTF, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Frag ya there!"

Anybody remember in '97 when they duck taped Blue to a chair and brought in the stripper? The good old days :)

There are actually two separate tournaments involving RTCW. There's the RTCW: Team Tournament that will have 64 teams - six players per team. And there's the Wolfenstein Enemy Territory tournament that will let "128 lucky attendees" do battle for a $4,000 top prize!

Check out this pic from the gallery...are you getting pumped for Doom III yet? THE EVIL LIVES ON!

This year is the latest registration has been announced and held. It's like a chicken with its head cut off, its running around but its dead. No longer held at the nostalgic Hampton in Mesquite... no no, the Adam's Mark downtown is where they sold out to... shame shame...

Maybe the onsite won't be as big of a mess as in the past, oh wait, the rest of this year has been worse than in years past... OH DRED!

Yeah. Damn them for changing something. Anything. Don't they know that all gamers are stauch conservatives who never want to change anything, ever?

As if the registration wasn't crowded and bogged down enough, now we have to put up with the slashdot crowd killing the server as well.

This year there are 2,000 spots avaliable in the BYOC for anybody that signs up. Also, the venue has been changed from a convention center in Mesquite to the Adam's Mark Hotel/Convention center right in the heart of Dallas, Texas.
