Err... Didn't seem like these posts answered your question, but yes, Rockstar North is located in Edinburgh, Scotland... Although all their publishing people (Rockstar Games, Take-2) are in US...
I, for one, applaud Square's attempts! Square has been known for dropping a few games that, to put it politely, 'didn't meet expectations' (movies as well:), but they are one of the few game companies out there that is still willing to take a chance! Not many companies I can think of would take one of there popular franchises, let alone their FLAGSHIP franchise, and try to do something totally diffrent with it. The thought process now seems to be 'Keep pumping out sequels(sp?) to the franchise with better graphics.', so even if the game turns out to be a dud, at least they took a chance with it!
I've been trying to keep up with the whole FFxi - PlayOnline scene for a while now, and one prevailent fact keeps arising: Did everyone forget about TETRA MASTER?!?!? I loved the card game in FF8 (except the accursed random rule! GAH!), and Tetra Master, I think, was a big improvement over that. And now it's gonna be multiplayer! Online even! With card collecting!!! HUZZAH!!!
Although I agree that the hormonially challenged seem to have a problem when anything that could be female (you can never be sure) approaches, I really enjoy meeting members of the opposite sex in MMORPGs. Some of the coolest girls in the world are girl gamers, and if you meet them in a game you like, then they probably have some common intrests, etc. It's truely a shame that a bunch of knuckleheads have to ruin a perfectly good social expieriance, which usually ends up driving women away from MMORPGs, or forces them to hide their femanine origins. I am very sorry that these folks drove you away from MMORPGs, and I whole-heartedly wish the maturity level in online games would take a giant leap for (wo)mankind.
Actually, the Dreamcast isn't quite dead yet! The hacker community has been writing all sorts of emulators and various trinkits for the DC for a while after it 'officially' died, so there will probably still be some demand for at least a Chu Chu rocket server.:P
Very curious suggestion! It kind of makes sense in a weird kinda Sims addict kinda way... It seems to me that people who are into this game take it VERY seriously (if people are forming simulated mafias in a simulated real life simulator...), so what could be more devestating to this people then to punish them in there own world! I can see it now, when the bullies are traped in the corner by bots... Or for not so serious offenders, have bots that just hang out at their house all day and bug them.:)
Yes, it was alot easier to deal with Greif in the MUD days... just make the mods God characters, and launch the biggest fireball you can think of at trouble makers. Or throw them in Limbo with the pink dragon....
Since I couldn't see what buttons I was pushing, the crotch-level nozzle blasting 102-degree water came as a shock--and my attempts to shut it off only caused other nozzles to splash me as if I were in a penitentiary riot. (Hilton's plan to install a voice-activated control could be just the solution.)
I hope the voice command to turn it off will be 'OMG MY WANG ARRRRRG!!!!!'
Well, one could also argue that in GTA, you didn't HAVE to steal that cop car, you wanted to. It's just easier in GTA cause there are no conseqences. If there were no conseqences for murder, people (at least in this day in age, unfortunatly...) would prolly be killin each other alot more. If you could have stole that cop car in real life, ran through the streets running over people and exploding other authority figures, and eventually end it in a blaze of firey doom, then just wake up in the hospital scot free, would you? (Probably not now that I think about it, cause we are probably not all rampant killers. But you would at least take the car eh?:)
I also wonder, in the process of pushing pirates underground, that all this will do nothing but consolidate file sharers to one network, and promote MORE file sharing due to all the press, as well as discussions on what Apps will effectivly hide you from your ISP...
Yes, i've read that those were problems with Primal... hopefully, as far as fighting goes, it won't apply as much in this game, which seems more weapon based then melee combat. And they seem to be taking a more cinematic approach (guessing from the limited screenshots available), so maybe that will clear up some camera issues. If not, im sure they have the time to clear these things up... I hope anyway!:P
When asked about Metal Gear Online, Kojima said that it will probably come out, but he isn't sure when. Kojima explained that he could just release the game right now, but he doesn't think it's fun in its current state.
That's totally awesome when a developer realizes 'Hey, the game is done, but it sux.' and doesn't just release it anyway. Far to often, games get released that are so bad, one wonders if the people developing it noticed? I guess Hideo's success allows him the freedom to not release something that he doesn't feel is ready, whereas most game companies have to get something on the shelf, or it's over.
I made the mistake of reading the interview before looking at the screenshots. After reading, I had the 'Oh great, sounds like trumped up Luigi's Mansion...' opinion, but one look at this floored me. I can totally see this game being a great one.
Although I don't agree that the GameCube doesn't have the software (quite a few GameCube games are among my favorites), I completely agree that the GameCube's downfall is Online support. From the look of the console industry, online console games are about to EXPLODE. Sony got there killer app (SOCOM), XBox Live has quite the library now, with a ton of titles on the way, and GameCube has.... Phantasy Star? The future of these consoles is online. Sony and Micro realized this, and planned accordingly, but Nintendo seems to be ignoring this all to important phenomina. I'm not saying that every game has to be online, but there has to be something. My advice to them would have been 'fight with all your might for Resident Evil Online'. I have a good feeling about this one, and GameCube already had Resident Evil exclusivness. It would at least have gotten people to go out and buy the modem!
On a side note: Why in the name of all things holy in the universe does Soul Caliber 2 not have online support. Bring fighting games into this millinium PLEASE!!!
That game is superhuman. I would like to see some of the really good players take this test. Off the scale for sure. I can't even beat the second level yet:(

"I loved the card game in FF8, and Tetra Master, I think, was a big improvement over that"
The 'that' is refering to Tetra Master being an improvment over FF8's card game, Triple Triad.

Or when he colorfully 'salutes' oncoming traffic? Bet that was a fun day.
'No that's all wrong, like THIS! *bird*'
Anybody remember in '97 when they duck taped Blue to a chair and brought in the stripper? The good old days :)
Baked Beans are off!!!

I'm a good example of why you should be informed to what your kids play. My parents didn't really mind what I playing, and look how I turned out!
*twitch**spasm*
Too each him the all to valuable lesson; save often when talking to girls....
Or uhhh.... throw it in a fire? Big magnet maybe?

IANAL, but can they still prove the individual's guilt if they wiped there hard drive?
"Oh someone must have spoofed my ip! I don't trade music, I swear!"

Anbody notice on the main page's Screenshots, the thumbnail for the ship going into (coming out of?) the wormhole is BIGGER than the actual picture?
