Swimming Cockroach Robot Developed
Onnimikki writes "The Ambulatory Robotics Lab at McGill University has made a six-legged swimming cockroach robot as part of Project Aqua. The robot is a waterproof version of the RHex robot, whose inspiration is the biomimetic work by Bob Full of Gecko glue fame. Other cool stuff from the ARL page includes a waddling bipedal RHex, and the world's first galloping robot."

The country's censorship board cited violence which might 'harm social peace', but also said the 'religious themes' of the film's storyline, about the search for the creator and control of the human race, may cause 'crises'. A statement said: 'Despite the high technology and fabulous effects of the movie, it explicitly handles the issue of existence and creation, which are related to the three divine religions, which we all respect and believe in.'"

Baby found beheaded, gutted

A 30-year-old Modimolle (formerly Nylstroom) woman was arrested on Wednesday after her mother found the woman's six-month-old baby beheaded and gutted in her room, police said.
Captain Malesela Ledwaba said police were summoned after the grandmother found her granddaughter's headless body. The girl's intestines had also been removed in an atrocity during the night.
"After some preliminary investigation the head was found buried in a shallow grave on the doorstep of the back room," Ledwaba said. The intestines were found hanging from a coat hanger next to the bed.
Ledwaba described the scene as particularly gruesome.
The baby's mother was then arrested and admitted to hospital under police guard.
The woman's motive for slaughtering the child and ripping out her intestines was not known and she appeared to be catatonic.

Dear rotten.com, I am unsure if you are aware of the problems that your "Incident with the bird" picture has caused on the popular technology website slashdot (http://slashdot.org).
Many users of this site's messageboards are posting links to http://smoke.rotten.com/bird/ and making text based representations of a bird on a man's penis. Frankly, while I am pro-freedom, this type of photo sickens me. Could you please move the location of the bird page on your site to keep slashdot readers from seeing things that are completeley unrelated to computers and technology? I'm not asking you to remove the content, just to relocate it.
