Philips Introduces Mirror TV

UnknowingFool writes "PCWorld.com is reporting that Philips is introducing mirror TV. It is a combination mirror with LCD monitor that will be rolling out to hotels. The screens will be 1280 x 768 resolution and come in 17, 23, and 30 inch sizes. It reminds me of TV PiP where the main part is the mirror and the smaller part is the monitor. Philips hopes to install it in homes later."

    ANN ARBOR, Michigan (AP) -- A pregnant woman who fell from a loft and was impaled on a microphone stand was in critical condition Thursday after surgery to repair a ruptured lung. Her baby was not harmed, officials said.

    Jessie Wickham, 34, was injured at her home on Wednesday. She was 81/2 months pregnant.

    There were no immediate plans to deliver the baby early, said Kara Gavin, spokeswoman for University of Michigan Hospital.

    "The fetus' condition has been monitored constantly throughout Jessie's treatment and operation, and all vital signs appear to be good," Gavin said.

    Wickham was in a second-story loft when she became dizzy and fell, crashing through a bannister onto the 3-foot microphone stand, which was amid musical instruments set up on the first floor, officials said.

    The microphone pole pierced her body through the upper chest, from front to back, penetrating a lung and shoulder bones but missing her heart and major blood vessel by millimeters, Gavin said.
