Impress Your Friends With Vice City Online Stats

Thanks to an anonymous reader for pointing to the unofficial Grand Theft Auto:Vice City PHP Stats page. This clever utility takes your stats.txt file from the PC version of Vice City, and arranges it in a smart-looking webpage for all your fellow gangsters to see, even adding detail and interpretation to a bunch of the info. Here's an example stats page generated by the site.

So now I can look like a god in the game without playing it from the comfort of vi and a nice little php script. Thanks! Does anyone see a point in this? Kinda cool... but uh... easily changed?

Troll? He's got a good point! Once I saw it was a .TXT file, I wanted to find it and fiddle with it in Notepad just to do it. I seriously doubt I'm the first who thought of that. (well obviously I'm not, parent poster beat me to it...)

In any case, Troll is not how I'd moderate this post.

The stats.txt file can only be exported, not imported for use in game, so there's no point in changing it to cheat.

It's simply a much nicer format showing what you've done in the game then the plain old traditional scrolling stats you see in the game, so...there's a point.

incase anybody was looking for the file and couldn't find it, you have to load a game, view your stats, and press s to save them. that creates a stats.txt and a (horribly pink) stats.html in the folder your save games are in
