I was getting occasion spim, but it bothered me enough to setup my AIM as a whitelist of just people i knew could contact me...anybody else? how often are all of you talking to strangers on AIM?
DRIV3R made the front cover of EGM last month for a detailed preview, but the article inside wasn't all hype - they made it pretty clear that they were very skeptical about it being any good
Seriously, have you considered C or C++? My absolute first exposure to programming was C++ in Borland, in a freshman year college class. I found it to be easy at the time, and its been a solid foundation for anything else I look into.
No need to get into classes or anything remotely complicated...start with a hello world proggie, and move on from there...
Any you guys complaining about it being too hard actually play through the game? First time through is awful, but by the second time you go through it and know what works, the normal difficulty level is cake - it's an EASY game once you know how to play.
However, I do agree that an easy difficulty level would be good for casual gamers/people who paid for the game but can't get past first boss...
On a related side note: Metropolis Street Racing was the first game I played that also used the internal clock to adjust gameplay. When you first play the game, you choose your time zone, and from then on that's the time in the game.
The kicker was that the different cities were in different time zones. So if you lived in NY and its (realtime) noon, but were racing in Japan at the moment, it'd be (gametime) nighttime where you're racing because of the time zone difference. If you were racing on NY though, you might catch an in-game sunset at the same time you catch it out your window at home....I got a kick out of it...
errr...i still play blades of steel all the time...if it wasnt for blades of steel and double dragon II, i dont think i would've made it through last semester...
tip for anybody that cares - if you've got the puck and there's no one in front of you and you pass, it goes straight forward...do this in front of the net and you have an unpredictable shot while your buddy's goalie is following that little arrow...
I agree whole-heartedly...i wasted a couple semesters of college on a couch playing through co-op legendary again and again...
but where has it ever been said for sure that co-op won't be included? every time another article comes out i look for some mention of what they're doing with co-op, but have never seen anything...
The stats.txt file can only be exported, not imported for use in game, so there's no point in changing it to cheat.
It's simply a much nicer format showing what you've done in the game then the plain old traditional scrolling stats you see in the game, so...there's a point.
All the business monkeys at my school tell me the first rule of good business is to cater to your existing customer base; seeking out new customers should be of lower priority.
This could make for a good Business 101 case study by seeing how soon/if Netflix drops dead.
this story is obviously fake......not even time travelers can come out on top in today's market...

Since the Gameboy has a built in screen, there are no cables to hassle with.
nothin for nothin, but where's the hassle with cables?...you plug them in once, and then...well...
I thought the CueCat was USB?
deja vu...I could swear I've seen this story on /. a dozen times already...
in other news - Jimmy Chi announces 3D laptop...no pictures yet, but let's discuss!
