More Incompatible DVDs and CDs Coming Your Way

wwwssabbsdotcom writes " More DRM is coming to DVD and CD shelves in the future. Looks like more incompatible discs for players around the world. Rip-proof and self-destructing seems to be the latest DRM craze."

    I'd rather have cheap products that sometimes don't work on 10 year old players (and protects rights for a creator of art) than expensive ones that can be pirated but work on all players.

    Um even if my new CD only plays once it still plays that one time through my headphone jack and if thats the case then i get out my hand little male-male headphone jack and plug it into my MiniDisc recorder and make a copy that is almost indistinguishable from the original by most people(side note, if you can tell the difference, then you are not most people so shut the fuck up I don't want to read 30 posts saying, "OOh look at me I am different, I can hear better than you , I am soo much more hardcore, kiss my feet leper.") and can be played as many times as I want or I could just import it as aiff and burn it to a CD so, oops, that makes me a law breaker all of the sudeen because well it seems that the copy protection was not quite "effective" enough.
