U.S. Imposes Big Tariffs On Korean Chipmakers

Dear rotten.com,

I am unsure if you are aware of the problems that your "Incident with the bird" picture has caused on the popular technology website slashdot (http://slashdot.org).
Many users of this site's messageboards are posting links to http://smoke.rotten.com/bird/ and making text based representations of a bird on a man's penis. Frankly, while I am pro-freedom, this type of photo sickens me. Could you please move the location of the bird page on your site to keep slashdot readers from seeing things that are completeley unrelated to computers and technology? I'm not asking you to remove the content, just to relocate it.

Ok, Forgot about this Micron stuff there is something more important you guys can do to help me out and help all of us in doing so.

You, see.. throughout this week there has been news of Harry Potter books being stolen in the truckloads.

Now, one such book has been digitized (bless his soul), and put on alt.binaries.ebooks.

The problem is, that I don't have access to this newsgroup, so if any of my brothers here on /. has access to that, please download the book, put it on a web/ftp server (or e-mail) and let me know by posting below. Also, brothers who wish to get the book post below as well.

I'm doing this for a good cause (Ie. reading the book ASAP). Ofcourse, I've paid for the book (through scolastic pre-orders), but my book might not be here till monday. So help a brother out.

US Companies and Foreign Ownership DHL/

I hear the South Korean government getting reamed for keeping foreign companies from acquiring the company...but that's exactly what we do as well to protect UPS/FedEx.

In short, DHL is a small competitor to FedEx and UPS. DHL Airways is contracted by DHL to carry air freight for DHL. The German post office bought into DHL (which only owns 25% of DHL Airways), and now FedEx and UPS are trying to get DHL Airways shutdown in the US because that supposedly is 'foreign ownership'.

Of course, in the US, foreigners are not allowed to own more than 25% of our airlines.

Jumping ahead a bit, isn't the government bailout of airlines really the same thing? There is no question that airlines are the nastiest, most inefficient entities ever to develop on the planet Earth.
