Gaming Site Reviews.. Real Life?
jbp8 writes: "There's an article on GameSpot reviewing the ultimate MMOG - real life!" The article gives real life an Editor's Choice award, focusing on issues such as leveling up ("Typically, a character will learn of the numerous viable career paths available by undergoing schooling. This can be a long and tedious process, equivalent to the sort of 'level treadmill' monotony that characterizes almost all MMORPGs") and player death ("..a serious issue in real life, and cause for continued debate among players, who often direct unanswerable questions on the subject to the game's developers.")
karma WHORE!
Obviously, the amount of time one spends in an online "life" is time spent away from real life. Turn the game off, go outside and enjoy the real life -- problems and all.
I wonder who among us would have written on his tombstone: I should have spent more time online.
You see, when I said "2ND POST FOR GNAA", I didn't mean 2nd post out of all posts, I was obviously referring that this was the 2nd GNAA post!
YOU FAIL ENGLISH!
My 200 bot botnet and I will be taking over #GNAA tomorrow. Since you have such a small channel, you will get no help from CHANFIX to get it back. I hope that will put an end to your lame trolling. Now fuck off and die, you prepubescent assclown.

To mod this down overrated. This idiocy of 'creationism' may be part of our culture, but so was slavery. If the day would come where nobody would know about those fairy tales.

This reviewer failed to mention he was playing on the "Affluent Western" Shard. Often people in this Shard fail to realise there are other shards, and that in them there are fewer career advancement options, fewer options generally and gameplay is much less fun.
The admins created only a potentially fair system, the nature of the player created "nation-states" and trade has disadvantaged many players on the server.
Do the Western Shard players care? Doesn't really look like it when they deal weapons they have created to other shards, and despite some charity demand interest on loans that they have given the others which is greater than the amount they give in charity.
Some commentators have accused the West shard players of becoming TOO hardcore in their roleplaying in relation to "national security"- it is believed when Saddam learned of the invasion he said "Bloddy hell, this is only a game dudes.". Indeed many commentators have labeled recent actions as "just too unrealistic... as if the most powerful clan would become so paranoid and try and destory everything... IMO the america clan is abusing the game and not playing properly".
It is claimed the feared, loved, hated and ignored "America" clan has been going on regular bashings to gain experience and consolidate their powerful position.
Everyone is praying the admins will step in before the game comes to a premature end due to the antics of the "America" clan.
Some whisper of rebellion in the ranks of the Western shard.
No doubt it will be interesting to see how the game unfolds... just remember our accounts may be at stake.
Ooooooh, I'm sooooo sorry. English is not the national language of Holland, you know. That's right, I live in Holland and I attended the dutch equivalent of college. What? You thought everyone on Slashdot was American? Sad, really.
