Last Chance for Slashdot T-Shirt Contest
This is your last chance to enter Slashdot's T-Shirt Design Contest that we announced a few weeks ago. The contest officially ends tomorrow. We've had over 200 submissions, and some of them are pretty cool, but I don't think there yet is a Lock for the winner. So if you've got what it takes to design a T-Shirt (we're too cheap/lazy to do it ourselves!) you can win store credit at ThinkGeek plus free shirts with your winning design on them! Here are the Official Rules. Read the original story for submission details.
Hm, my dictionary says that both those words are spelled correctly. Oh, perhaps you were talking about the grammar?
Different state governments have different laws that apply to contests (which are usually grouped with lotteries and gambling). They often restrict what form prizes, entry requirements, or judging may take, or require registration with the state governments, fees, or prize bonds. That's why most contests you see have the "void where prohibited by law" tagline in the fine print.
Same with the "US only" restriction. Different national governments also have all sorts of different laws about contests.
Since it's difficult to keep everyone happy, it's often easier simply to restrict the contest from places with requirements you don't feel like trying to meet.
