Mac OS X replacing Linux at Tokyo University

TekkaDon writes "At least 1,150 desktop and server PCs running Linux will be replaced with Mac OS X computers at the University of Tokyo next year, as reported by Asahi (Japanese), and echoed by MacRumors.com. 'Ease of maintenance and software installation were cited among the reasons for the switch.' I wonder if Keitaro and Naru will get iMacs at Hinata as well."

    In related news, the University of Tokoyo is going 'paperless' this year, doing away with books, textbooks and toilet paper. When asked if this was due to budget reasons, the school's principle failed to reply.

    I'm so glad they are gonna put OSX machines there!

    PS: Love Hina sucks. But hey, what can I do. it's doomed to be sucky since it's anime. :(

      while anime does blow ass, there's no reason to take out your frustation on the mac platform.

    Great. Another mac user talking crap they know nothing about. Look, it's amazed me how you guys can defend your platform against the FUD of "Macs cost too much" but then jump into spreading more of the sameabout other platforms, I tell you it's frustrating.

    GIMP is a stunning quality App, it just works differently to photoshop, yet feature matches it 1:1 for almost everything, and under Linux it's FASTER than photoshop on the same hardware.

    If you got your head out of your arse and actually used the apps you deride on linux you'd know this.
