Homemade Star Wars Flick/Fanimatrix Movie

I have to admit it is a very good example of what software can do today without million dollar render farms and special effects equipment." And as a followup to the Fanimatrix story the other day, the movie is now available: LarsBT writes "It's out. Get the full movie. Here's the torrents: normal mpeg version torrent (170 MB); Normal Divx version torrent (73 MB); and finally the High quality DivX torrent (135 MB)."

I've been skeptical of this all-hailed content distribution technology since I first read of it. but, hell, I figured I would finally try it.

really, it's a good idea. most of us have cable; our downstream bandwidth is much larger than our upstream. if only file sharing could find some way to balance that, right? enter bittorrent, which claims it will automatically distribute load among many servers, even allowing you to use sources that don't have the complete file.

ok, so I figured I'd give it a try. apt-get install bittorrent, I say, and that's all taken care of. bit[tab] ... hmm ... bt[tab][tab] ... btdownloadgui ~/dl/The[tab][enter]. still pretty easy.

a dialog box pops up. cool! it's downloading. ok, 40k/s downstream, 12k/s upstream. I can handle that.

This is an important warning to all slashdotters. CmdrTaco has been luring
people (mainly underage males) into the slashdot compound to eat his "special
taco".

You may be wondering what CmdrTaco's "special taco" is. You will be wishing
that you hadn't been wondering after you finish reading this post. To make
his "special taco", CmdrTaco takes a taco shell and shits on it. He then adds
lettuce, takes out his tiny withered dick (otherwise known as his
"Commander"), puts his "special taco sauce" on it which means he jacks off on
the taco, and adds a compound to make the person who eats the taco
unconcious. Of course, the compound does not make the person unconcous until
the taco is fully eaten. Thus CmdrTaco force feeds the taco to the
unsuspecting victim. After all, who would knowingly eat shit and CmdrTaco's
jizz.

After the victim is unconcous, he is held against his will and used for
CmdrTaco's nefarious homosexual purposes. This includes shoving taco shells
up the victim's ass, taco snotting, and getting JonKatz involved. Trust me,
you do not want JonKatz anywhere near your unconcious body. Also, rumor has
it CmdrTaco is looking for a new goatse.cx guy. Don't let it be you!!!!!

The last thing you may be wondering is how this goes along with "taco
snotting", or what "taco snotting" is. George WIPO Bush and The WIPO Troll
have been doing considerable work explaining what "taco snotting" is. Please

From the Gallery, I thought it looked a lot like a (well made) video game. Then it occurred to me that Episode II did, too.

So, props to you folks-- maybe Lucas's next movie will be slightly less of a train-wreck because of you.
