Home Brew Hard Drive Silencer/Cooler
infodragon writes "As I was looking for ways to silence my system I ran across this article demonstrating a sandwich approach to silencing and cooling a hard disk. Quite a novel idea compared to other silencing techniques!"
Good lord people, how loud are your computers that you're constantly on the search for the best way to reduce the noise level to where you could hear a pin drop in the next room? I can think of about 900 things I'd rather spend a measly $12 on before I spent it on hushing up my hard drive. I've got two completely un-silenced, crappy airflow, non-uber systems in my room at home and have never once even thought about having to quiet things down. Overclocking, cooling, video cards, sound cards, I can understand wanting to eek out the most performance, but the whine of a hard drive? WTF?
The whole thing sounds kind of anal to me.

I am one of many. My idea is not unique, nor do I expect my voice alone to sway you. I speak in a chorus of opinion.
asynthotic.
yeah right -- NOT EVEN CLOSE! You must have
heard someone use the right word and never bothered
to look it up to know what it means.
asynthotic... geez!
everyone: let's just make up words we can't spell now. ok?
Feed pigs to muslims.
I don't even use hard drives. I just keep 30 Chinese teenagers in my basement and force them to memorize numbers.
Hard drive silences you!
