Ban On Internet Sales Tax Ends Saturday

donnyspi writes "As reported in the Rocky Mountain News, among other places, the 5 year ban on collecting sales tax on purchases over the internet is scheduled to end Saturday. 'The original moratorium was established in 1998, renewed in 2001 and is set to expire Saturday. The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill in September that would expand the ban and make it permanent. Similar legislation hasn't yet been voted on in the Senate.'

While its not the ONLY reason people buy online, its one huge reason..

It will hit retailers pretty hard if the ban fades into the distant past and taxes start being mandated.

Its all about governmental greed.. screw every cent out of the population..

Just before the Xmas rush too... go figure.

Someone needs to start sending around an email petition NOW! You know who's behind it all is that damn Madeleine Murray O'Hair! Send this to 50 of your closest friends or there'll be a 5 cent tax on EVERY EMAIL!! And a penny on EVERY exclamation point in EVERY EMAIL!!! Do you know how much it will cost to forward moral outrage/pending legislation email petitions ALONE?!?!?!!?!(!!!)
