CD-R Lifespan - Is It The Label?
sysadmn writes "Slashdot has discussed archival lifespan of CD-R media before. Fred Langa revisits the issue with a new twist: Are glue-on labels causing premature failure? Much more common than rain forest fungus! From Fred's informative LangaList newsletter."
He must have been after the excess dried spooge on your CD pr0n collection.
And don't forget the ever popular label, "child pr0n cd1"
I'm sure the fact that Taco sticks CDs up his ass doesn't help their longevity either.
This has nothing to do with anything remotely Slashdot related, but I need to do something before my head explodes...
As I type this, my roomate and my best friend/recent lover are fucking in the next room over. WHAT THE FUCK. After 10 years of friendship and built-up sexual tension, we finally hooked up and now less than a week later she's banging my roomate. I am so fucking incensed right now I can't think straight. I wouldn't mind if they went to a hotel or otherwise didn't make it known, but she just FUCKING WALKED PAST MY ROOM TOPLESS AND SHUT THE DOOR IN MY FUCKING FACE. How fucking insensitive can you be?!
This sucks. It's 3AM and I'm telling strangers (GEEK strangers, no less) about my personal problems. I am a big pussy and will most likely not say anything to either one of them so I expect this to go on for a while. Fuck.
Feeling low? There's someone else out there that's having a worse day than you. Trust me.
It's time to pay the Piper now, motherfuckers.
1. Stop stealing fucking music and writing it on CD. Buy quality CD's from qualified Record Industry of American sponsored artists (anyone else is not licensed to produce music, and therefore they are also contributing to IP theft).
2. Stop using shit-assed IDE crap and buy quality SCSI burners instead. My Linux box with a nice PlexWriter has NEVER produced a coaster, and my data is still just as fresh now as it was when I got my burner about 3 years ago.
3. Learn the difference between the words, "looser" and "loser", you god damned illiterate American fuckwits!
There is a slight problem with that. Hard drives are not very portable. The main reason people use CDs is the portability.
The penguin has a slight problem with CDs and HDs in general - you have to mount them manually(unless you use some desktop environment... bleh), Windows(r) really excels in that area.
talk about pressure? those fauxking foulcurrs on wall street of deceit/capitollist hill, are having a whoreabull time attempting to hide the news (buy use of phonIE scriptdead ?pr? ?firm? hypenosys) of their felonious payper liesense billyonerrors' latest softwar gangster hostage taking attempts, &/or the adolescent dictator megalomania of the georgewellian fuddites/walking dead perpetraitors of the greed/fear/ego based life0cide against humankind.
for each of the creators' innocents harmed, there is a badtoll that must/will be repaid by you/US, as the aforementioned walking dead will not be available to make reparations, when the big flash occurs.
lookout bullow. the lights are coming up now.
mynuts won: va lairIE/robbIE's whoreabull infactdead PostBlock(tm) devise, fails again&again.
Due to excessive bad posting from this IP or Subnet, comment posting has temporarily been disabled. If it's you, consider this a chance to sit in the timeout corner. If it's someone else, this is a chance to hunt them down (like with fuddles' hobbyist bouNTy hunter softwar gangster witchhunt ?pr? scams). If you think this is unfair, we don't care. tell 'em robbIE? it's ALL about the monIE?
I was the guy who sent him the info on %WINDIR% and all that info on what it is/how to use it, for his clean up scripts, and not only did he not credit me, but he even gave the credit to OTHER folks who wrote in in subsequent weeks. In other words, I sent him info, he used it without crediting me, then other folks send him more info, and he fucking credits those other people.
Not reading his stuff anymore.
