Israeli Ministry of Commerce Picks OO.org Over MS
CaptainT writes "According to this article in The Register Microsoft office was replaced by Open Office in the Israeli employment agency.
MS scorns the defection...
This follows current Israeli antitrust legislation and the recent release by IBM and Sun of Hebrew support in OpenOffice.org. Is the Israeli Defence Force going to follow?"
....accusing the Israelis of being tight-fisted.
Hahahahahahaha

Oh, oh, oh, oh!
How ironic...
Athiesm is a religion in the same way that freedom is slavery.
What changed under Obama? Nothing Good
Another day, another anti-Israel post (by an AC, of course...).
Riddle me this, folks... why is it that Pro-Palestinians and anti-Israel people always yell "Stop the 'Occupation,' Get out of the West Bank! Leave Gaza!" when it is obvious that what they really mean is "No Jews are allowed here! We want ALL the land! We need 27 arab states and nothing for you!"???
Sound far-fetched? It isn't. Well, why is it then that in 1948, Israel was a sliver of land, WITHOUT the West Bank, WITHOUT gaza, WITHOUT jerusalem, and yet Israel was still invaded by 6 arab countries simultaneously, with the arab alliance slogan "We will push them into the Sea." Furthermore, the PLO, the Palestinian "Liberation" Organization was founded in 1962, five years before Israel had ANY control over the disputed lands.
Bottom line, the Arabs want Israel destroyed. They do not want co-existence, they do not want equal protection. To say Israel is wholly-responsible for the problems is ignorant, biased, and often (but not always) based on a pre-existing prejudice. I do feel Israel has done mistakes, yes - and the "intifada" could have been handled better. The whole "land for peace" is an interesting concept (one which I support, in parts, by the way), but Israel is understandably skeptical about it, considering their past with their neighbors...
Agnostism. Basically, "I don't know either way".
Militant agnostics are funny. "I DON'T KNOW AND YOU DON'T EITHER!"

Good job, Debian Troll!
$5 / month hosted VPS on linux = awesome!
I live in a tourist area (US) where the Israelis run T-shirt shops, they get customers to get custom designs done and charge them $134 on their credit card. When the tourists get home and get their credit card statement, it's $734. If the tourist has enough resources to challenge it, the Israeli's claim it was a mistake. They have run this racket for quite some time, change business owners etc., even run back to Israel where there is no extradition. I had a Israeli try to sell me a condo on the cheap and I almost bought it thinking "what a dope", glad it fell through, she got someone else and it turned out she sold it previously and the paperwork hadn't gotten done yet. She fled to Israel. I trust a Israeli as far as I can throw them.
love is only a biochemical reaction
Love is clearly not "only a biochemical reaction"; it may be founded in such, or manifest itself as such, but love, like all emotion, is also a quality of consciousness.
Yours Sincerely, Michael.
You're so close to be a materialist, except the question "meaning of life" might be loaded but its clear that spreading ones genes before one dies is pretty much it.
As for fundamental right and wrong, humans are well equiped (through the invisible hand of evolution) to understand when they've been cheated or victimized. This behavior is seen in most social mammals. No biggie.
Emotions are chemicals? Yep, does that make them any less 'real' or significant?
Death is certainly the end, as all attempts to prove otherwise have failed miserably.
Religion generally means that some facts/rules of human behaviour and so on are absolute and not to be questioned. For example, you won't find many christians that think God approves casual sex and use of abortion as birth control.
An atheist doesn't necessarily think that christians are stupid, he/she just doesn't share their beliefs. As for meaning of life, atheists follow their gut feeling, advice of other humans or desire to make people happy to decide how to live. It may lead him/her in the same direction as religious people or it might not. Anyhow I haven't met anyone who uses science to make significant moral decisions. Or who is actively proud of being an atheist rather than just not feeling necessity of religion in their world view.
I think you have just as many stereotypes about atheists as we have about christians. You should hang around more. You might find people who qualify for the best accomodations in your favourite afterlife. At least if they came to your chirch.
Why the fuck do Israeli's feel they have a right to the land in the Middle East? Did they have it before WWII? No? Should they be surprised the Islamists ("Religion of Peace and Tolerance") want them to get the fuck out now?
This was a valid post about a controversial issue. Not a troll.

"Europe has a huge population, violently pro-US (UK et al)" --Excuse ME!! the UK is NOT violently pro US, our elected leader is GWB's lap dog but most of the population are against the current US administration and their constant war mongering. We tend to like the American people but currently the majority are against thier (un)elected leader.
> Atheism is the religion of pride and arrogance.
No, atheism merely means someone disbelieves one more god than you do.
Based on a crude estimate of how many gods have been claimed to exist, you're about 99.9999% atheistic yourself.

Funny, when I say it it means "The Geneva Convention's ban on colonizing occupied territory must be observed by our friends, too."

are the Talmudic laws governing the relations between Jews and non-Jews.
They have computers in Israel? Wow, thats news to me.
Yes, the Israeli's are known as good decision makers.
The sun is shining. Exactly how is that an opinion, considering right now, in the Eastern Time Zone, out my window, it is indeed shining?
:-D HAND.
o·pin·ion (n.)
A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof: "The world is not run by thought, nor by imagination, but by opinion" (Elizabeth Drew).
FACT:
Your opinion that "all statements are opinion" is verifiably false, unless you're talking about SCO legal briefs, in which case you are 100% correct.
Is the Israeli Defence Force going to follow?"
I don't know, but if I were the open-source community I wouldn't be bragging about having a terrorist organization adopt my software. There's lots of other groups doing so without having to trot out a frigging vigilante group whom, if they were Arabs, would be branded by the Western world as a terrorist group.
Funny, but...
Why do people fight over who 'owns' the land? I'd say it's because they see each other as fundamentally different.
Finding something in common is the first step to getting along.
