but it's true that *120* people die on the road on average each day in the USA.
That's 120 deaths that could have been avoided for most of them. That's 120 deaths and how many crippled for live?
Compare that to the one US soldier that gets killed on average each day in Irak... who got killed for a cause (arguable maybe) doing his job.

I blame the media: they report once a while fatal car crashes but ignore the thousands who died in between. That gives a false sense of security.

How about, at the end of each tv news report, display the names of yesterday's road victims in 4 columns of 3 rows? Probably too much to bear for the average viewer and that wouldn't please the car maker sponsors either...

Also, 9/11 was caused by poor airline security and lax regulation and oversight. Terrorists are a fact of life that's incredibly difficult (and expensive) to change.

Not difficult, just expensive. Afghanistan & Iraq are certainly expensive, but there has not been so much as a car bomb in the USA ever since 9/11 even though a small attack would be incredibly simple to carry out. Heck, just look how much trouble a single sniper or careless smoker in the woods can cause.

The reason that there has not been another attack on US soil is that the terrorist organizations have found out what happens after they attack: more bullshit terrorist-sponsoring Middle-Eastern nations fall. This is something they don't want and something that the bullshit dictatorships that sponsor terrorists don't want either.
