WarCraft Board Game Compared, Rated
Thanks to OgreCave for their review of Fantasy Flight's boardgame version of seminal PC RTS WarCraft. The review starts off: "Ladies and gentlemen, WarCraft has left the computer, and this time it's survived", and continues: "Where Eagle's Age of Mythology conversion focused on all the little complex details of resource building, putting the whole game there, FFG's WarCraft makes the crucial change of putting the board back in." He concludes: "Basically, if you're looking for [in-depth, detailed] stuff to chew on, it's unquestionably here, but the focus is on fun, and that's what gets delivered." Elsewhere, there are some additional scenarios for the game already available on the official site.
Kevin Bloody Wilson reviewed it!!!
Pixels keep you awake!
Fantasy Flight is one of the most unpleasant work environments I've ever been in. I doubt I would work there if I were paid 3 times what I was.
Fantasy Flight: You need to hire a couple of your warehouse people instead of keeping them on as temps. You need to pay for insurance. You should probably pay them a living wage. The fact that "everybody does it this way" is insufficient justification. What's humourous is people there complained that you couldn't keep workers.
Intolerance for ambiguity is the mark of the authoritarian personality.
Warcraft games are the best RTS games ever, IMO. Maybe that actually succeeded in making something other than a PC game...gg blizzard
Risk?
Someone has a lot of time on their hands when they have nothing better to do than to bitch about it.
You deserved to get modded down, you egregious fucktard.
This is good news. Getting a little tired of risk during all my weekend-long parties when my friends come home from their dorms, I helped my mom order this game and the civilization board game. can't wait for christmas :P
... and if this board game is successful, will they start working on a computer conversion?
With their country's high-tech infrastructure not as developed as their southern brothers', this must be the version that North Koreans play. I bet they still rule at it!
