Plush Game Consoles Revealed
Thanks to an anonymous reader for pointing to the page showcasing a range of handmade 'plush game consoles', including cuddly, non-functional versions of the Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo GameCube, NEC PC Engine (TurboGrafx), and even the Neo Geo. According to the site: "Zumi [the creator] made these plush game consoles from scratch. They were all made by hand, without any tools more sophisticated than a felt pen or piece of paper." The page was recently featured in UK paper-magazine Edge, and there's now one of a limited edition of plush Dreamcasts up on Ebay, for the committed Dreamcast collectors among us.
The ebay auction mentioned in the article is here.
I don't think they're mods, but rather plush toys in the shape of consoles.
i don't think those are mods so much as...toys, or models.
They seem to be just plush models of the consoles...a teddybear is not a 'mod' to an actual animal...
I'd like to see a pluche PC, with keyboard and monitor. Or better yet... a G4 (cube) or G5... hmm... way cheaper, just as useful. *hides*
No encryption can withstand the power of the Lucky Guess.
As a screenshot on his site shows, he got the size of the consoles pretty much right... EXCEPT for the Neo Geo, which is way too small.
:P
Still, an interesting display of love for one's games. Really cool stuff.
Circumcision is child abuse.
Cool, these are perfect for throwing when your favorite game has frustrated you to the point of seething rage. I can finally chuck a Gamecube at someone without fearing legal retaliation!
Or stuff your plush dreamcast with catnip and now even the cat can come to appretiate Sega.
On Wall Street they say "buy low, sell high" On the pad we say, "buy high, sell high" Isn't that somehow better?
Nice pillows, but do they provide proper neck and upper back support?

Those are cool, but I want a plush NES and Game Boy next...
Goo goo g'joob.
I really don't see the point of these things but they are obviously going to end up here Plushie Sex and I have a feeling Ron Jeremy will be blowing these up on DVD
You aren't free to do anything, until you've lost everything.
...when this reminds you of the stuffed TV sets and stereos you made back in the '70s. Somehow, I feel vindicated.
I wonder if the guy will eventually catch up with all the systems (or at least the ones hes interested in making) and branch off into different areas. Plushie game characters, plushie game controllers, or maybe plushie ass cushions for gaming.
Now where's the plushie stand-up arcade? Life size, of course!
I like the "happy anime face" on the Dreamcast (last pic down).
Also, I wonder how long it will be before someone decides to one-up this effort and make functional plushie versions of these. Now THAT would earn you bragging rights. Or, well, eternal shame, depending.
But I'd like to see a plush Atari 800XL. That would be really cool.
there used to be a site www.teddypc.com where a couple of guys built a computer inside of a teddybear(full sized, not some micro board or laptop board either) and made a seperate one for a monitor... sigh... but it doesn't seem to be up anymore :(
The web site's too tastefully made.
To be successful, a range of plush toys must have a REALLY naff website.

Isn't anyone else concerned about these consoles getting too warm? There are ventilation fans for a reason on consoles that shouldn't be obstructed.
I said it before but this time I'm right. This is by far the GAYEST article EVER! W00t!!!1
And on top of that...they suck.
Seriously...no machinery to make these, huh? That's probably one of the most obvious things ever stated.
