RSS & BT Together?

Absolute genius. An RSS feed of torrents. I would set one up right now if I had content to share.

I'll believe it when I see it. This idea has been circulating the last few days through the blog world, the same people who think they're going to crush traditional media with the sheer power of their blogs. I say whatever.

This could be carried further into a whole indymedia via BT. It would be even harder for governments and industry to silent dissident voices.

A couple weeks back, Indymedia had an article saying that the Protocols of Zion were created by the Illuminati to throw blame on the Jews while they take over the world.

There's a fine line between being a dissident and wearing a tin-foil hat, and many of the guys at Indymedia are squarely on the wrong side.

but now we have it so they go over port 80.
bttracker: default port 80 (though its often on a higher port)
rss: just an xml document on a webserver, default port 80

there probably is a way to proxy the peer to peer connection to port 80 as well.

in the future everything will be on port 80, and the OS will have everything built into it. and The Windows OS will drop the name 'Windows', much like people seem to forget The MSSQL Server isn't the same The SQL Server. the file system will be just a database, the os will have dvd/cd/(next thing) player built in, with a spell checker and clip art and web browser with ftp support. One OS to rule them all, One OS to bind them all, One OS to infect them all (with yet another virus)

in the future we will also come up with sub-ports so that we can divide traffic up fer easier filtering. so port: 80/23 is ftp and port: 80/22 is ssh etc... and it will be a cool new inovative thing! PHBs will be so pleased they came up with it.

all that is old is new again, but dumber, and thats a 'Good Thing'(tm)

When I read "BitTorrent," I thought "Bitkeeper." Then for RSS, I came up with "Rational Software Solutions." I had this vision of them combining, Voltron-like, to crush the CVS rho-beast dead.

    Like I said, weird.
