Downloadable Origami Motorcycles

gse writes "This is too cool. Yamaha has a series of very realistic origami motorcycles, freely downloadable from their website. There's also a cool little article on how the models are made. I knew the office dyesub would come in handy someday!"

In origami you cannot use glue and scissors. If you are looking for origamis try Joseph Wu's Origami Page or Origami.com, in those sites you can have a peak in the wonderful world of folding. But those are really nice Paper Craft Models.

To clarify, that's a /. error. There is no claim to origami on the actual web site.

This kind of paper artwork is somewhat popular in Japan.
Basically, if you can make or get a 3d model of something, assembling a paper model if it isn't that hard to do. There's even software for this.

Check out their gallery for more examples.

There are also models of starships from Homeworld, Babylon 5, Star Wars and Star Trek here.

Of course, paper models by no means are limited to static sculptures. My girlfriend got me one of these and it was remarkably simple to assemble, yet very impressive.
    Very neat stuff.

    not oragami.
ori means to fold, and gami is the sounded variant of kami which means paper.

oragami could be some surname or something, but heck, i dunno.

Seppuku means the same thing, but with Chinese morphemes (but not necessarily from China). setsu = belly, fuku = stomach. They're synonyms. I can't think of a seppuku/harakiri in history that wasn't done by a direct or indirect order. For example, during the battle of Okinawa, many civilians committed suicide when the allied forces were invading because their education told them that death was preferable over becoming a POW.
