I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that someone at this relatively small school knew how to take over an iPhone locked with a 6 digit passcode. It appears that gmail was the weak link here. My guess is to what happened is that since the google apps were installed on the iPhone, when a "lost password" was triggered from a different phone, Google sent a reset code to the stolen phone. I haven't bothered to try and test this, but my hunch is that the reset code that Google sent to his phone was a notification accessible while the phone was locked.
Having owned several generations of iPhone I can see how:
On my older iPhone 6+, text message, alerts, and their contents are readily visible on the lock screen. On the newer iPhone X, the notifications are visible, but the contents of these notifications are not displayed until FaceID recognizes the owner. Odd, because TouchID could work in a similar manner. That could possibly be the way this happened. I don't use Google's apps on the iPhone and just use the built-in mail application - which do not notify me of new mail messages on the lock screen.
So Google sent a reset code via text to the iPhone and the person who stole it saw it appear on the lock screen. Using that code, they were able to take over the gmail account from a different device - and from there took over iTunes.
Actually they say they will provide proof by sending "evidence" to a random number of contacts:
"Should you are looking at going to the cop, okay, this e-mail cannot be traced back to me. I have dealt with my actions. i am also not attempting to charge a fee so much, i would like to be paid for. mail if i don't get the bitcoin, i will send out your video recording to all of your contacts including close relatives, coworkers, and many others. However, if i do get paid, i'll destroy the recording immediately. If you want evidence, reply Yup & i will certainly send out your video recording to your 9 contacts. it is a nonnegotiable offer, therefore don't waste my time and yours by replying to this e mail."
Actually, I did manage to trace them down somewhat: Settat Morocco. 105.145.42.45. Probably some dingy internet cafe...
The iHeartRadio app pulls similar bullshit, just not as scammy.
Shortly after bringing up the app, and around the time you select starting your feed, a near full-screen ad pops up asking if you want a subscription, with a cancel "X" in the top corner and a "Purchase button" on the bottom. Problem is, the whole ad surface is actually a purchase button unless you tap the small area with the "X". If you mess up and have FaceID or touch the home button, it immediately attempts a transaction.
Not only do you have the toilets flushing behind your head and the lavatory door constantly slamming shut, but you also get sit with your head ass-high to the person standing in the aisle who is turtle-necking it while waiting their turn.
Red Bull tastes a lot like any one of a multitude of Japanese energy/vitamin drinks that have been around for decades longer than Red Bull. Lipovitan being one example.
The cynic in me also thinks that the brisk business of selling Apple or 3rd party replacement parts such as laptop screens as well as batteries and screens for iPhones is also going away, right?
Your Mouse pad needs replacement, that will be $125
Your charger is broken, that will be $250
Your screen is dirty, that will be $50
Your "Apple" key is sticky, that will be $125
Your drive is full, that will be $1200
heck, might as well chuck it into the trash and buy a shiny new one, you like shiny new stuff.
That's like the tires on my car being worn, and the manufacturer saying, well, just buy a new car! duh!
Apple Mouse: $79.00 or $99 for Space Gray Apple Mousepad: They don't sell them, and generally you don't need them Apple Charger: $19 5W iPhone, to $79 87W USB-C Screen Cleaner: Not sold. Genius bar will do it for free if you ask nicely. Stuck keys: Warranty makes repair free for next 4 years. Otherwise it is a hell of a lot more than $125 Full drive: Delete porn stash - Free
They have preorders several times a year and a long wait afterwards. The last one was in August. I got interested in this after I added a HDD to my PS2 and discovered the joys of OpenPS2Loader.
What you say is true, but Sony has had a while to watch what happened with the NES/SNES classic an the hacking scene that sprung up around that.
I'm fairly certain that Sony will do something to thwart adding additional or different games to the console.
But then again, I consider Nintendo to be just about as strict with these things and they had lots of opportunities to hobble the SNES classic when that came out a year after the NES classic - and they didn't.
But the more interesting alternative is a real Playstation 1 and the PSIO device. You can load up all your "backups" on a memory card, plug this thing into the parallel port on the PS1, and play all the games off a built-in menu.
I have no idea what passes for the "leftist agenda" in your head.
Funny because I just posted a bunch of links to it.
This country does not have open borders, has universal health care, and has an ongoing problem with abuse of the system by foreigners:
Japan has a socialized medical system where people get insurance through their employers or from the government. It's a really good system as well - top notch medical treatment, safe, effective prescription drugs, and costs (unlike in the U.S.) are much lower.
The problem: You need to be a resident of Japan (or have something more than a 90-day tourist visa) in order to "buy into" the system via insurance and/or taxes. There's an ongoing problem with medical tourism in that country. People come in for the express purpose of gaining (or faking) residency, promptly getting expensive medical treatment, and leaving without paying anything into the system.
If you are going to promote your Left Think Platform, you cannot cherry-pick the planks. You need to accept the other planks as well.
ICE is out and open borders is in. All refugees welcome and Amnesty for everyone. Strict price controls on pharmaceuticals. Progressive taxation on high income individuals - say doctors and specialists.
Now we will be the world's doctor too - the only barrier is getting here somehow - perhaps the EU will export them?
How long will this last before it consumes itself and all we have left is Dr. Lexus?
If ever there is a burst of flame and sulphuric smoke, and Lucifer himself is standing there with a contract for my soul, what would I choose in exchange?
King of the world? Untold riches?
Hell no. I want to be the person who decides what SJWs and people on social media get pissed off at.
We have a theater (SMG) that has reserved seating, recliners, and full menu food service with booze if you want it.
I was dubious about it at first, but it's actually better than what you would expect - much better considering you are used to expecting theater food - and the prices are not out of line with what you would spend going to an average family restaurant before the film.
But I see your point. We rarely go to the theater (2-3 times/year tops). It's an easy habit to break though... go cold turkey on watching new films for about 2-3 months. Then do the Netflix and/or RedBox thing and you have a constant stream of new stuff to watch.
Not too hard?

Legit VOIP services should not do this, and if they do, they'll fix it real quick.
See the old movie "Gorath". An interesting Japanese flick where the earth is moved with giant rockets to avoid a planetary collision.

Here is what I think:
He was responsible for this highlight in US-Japan relations.
First they got rid of the maple-oat scones and Tazo tea - and now the porn?
They really don't want my business, do they?
Aisle seat on the rearmost row universally sucks.
Not only do you have the toilets flushing behind your head and the lavatory door constantly slamming shut, but you also get sit with your head ass-high to the person standing in the aisle who is turtle-necking it while waiting their turn.
The people in the US have a very high pain threshold and tolerance for screaming, running and acting like monsters.
We've been working especially hard at it since January 20, 2017

Unfortunately, we are not talking about or thunderbolt or lightning ports. The cameras on all modern Macs are USB devices.
And here we find the Apple lover.

example here
So you are telling me the leftist agenda does not promote (sources below are from left-leaning sites, and one centrist site):
Socialized/single payer medicine
Open borders
Controlling "Big Pharma"
Progressive taxation, especially on the rich
Because this is what the far left is pushing right now.
If you are going to promote your Left Think Platform, you cannot cherry-pick the planks. You need to accept the other planks as well.

"How the European nations hobble their Internet access will likely not change how everyone outside the EU will use and profit from the Internet."
Oh it affects me. That stupid cookie bullshit is maddening, especially on mobile sites.
That's an interesting point.

That's where the real power lies.
For Apple, itâ(TM)s HDMI, displayport, USB-C, or some combination of the three.
None of which are $200 and none of which are exotic compared to whatâ(TM)s on a Windows PC.
Dunno.
