New Intermediate Language Proposed
WillOutPower writes "Sun is inviting Cray (of supercomputer fame) and IBM (needs no introduction...) to join and create a new intermediate run-time language for high-performance computing. Java's bytecode, Java Grande, and Microsoft's IL language for the Common Language Runtime, it seems a natural progression. I wonder if the format will be in XML? Does this mean ubiquitous grid computing? Maybe now I won't have to write my neural network in C for performance :-)"

I find this VERY interesting. As you will notice, all stories on the front page are posted by michael, the worst slashdot editor. As you will also notice, ALL stories are posted at multiples of quarter-hours (eg. x:00, x:15, x:30, x:45). This leads me to suspect that michael is in fact NOT at his computer, but a bot he set up is posting weighted stories to the front page at intervals of 15 mins. Otherwise micheal would have to have been awake from 2:00 AM to 5:30 PM! (Though there are a few 3 hour intervals for naps, I am skeptical). OSDN should really think about bringing in a consultant to see how much dead weight they can drop. Here's a hint: michael and cowboy neal are expendable. Seriously, does cowboy neal do ANYTHING other than appear as the last option in polls? And it goes without saying that everyone hates michael.
We should petition OSDN to get that fucktard michael off the payroll.
Beautiful.

I have to agree. I think that Windows ME is he best OS ever. Linux people like to take it in the ass.
If you were talking about .NET, every one of those URLs would be at [microsoft.com]. Now you see why management types prefer MS.
It's already been done. Make any language object orientated.
