    Recently, slashdot editor CowboyNeal was qouted as saying on his weblog that he is "convinced that gay niggers should bind together in some sort of organization."

    This recent outburst of racism and fascism has hammered the last nail in the coffin. CowboyNeal is, beyond a shadow of doubt, a member of the infamous troll organization, GNAA (GAY NIGGER ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA).

      I guess the good news in all of this is that shit4brainz mother fucking ass lickers like you usually wind up doing something stupid at the wrong time and are quickly dispensed with before your 30th birthdays. You'll do something idiotic like getting hammered at a party and driving home drunk. Only you never make it home. Or... you will mouth off to the wrong person in real life or online.     At no point did I say that CNN was going to be slashbotted, I merely stated that it was getting slow, and it was - it took me 15 seconds to load the page, 15 seconds I could've used to get the FP. I don't see how you can call me a karma whore. I'm just a genuine user with genuine contributions to make. Of course my post was helpful; I'm sure CNN don't want 700,000 morons reloading their page at the same time.

    I was on a committe at NIST that analyzed this issue. Basically leap seconds are compensatory measures taken by government (mainly scientists) to keep time running the way it does. The system of hours/minutes/seconds we have set up is quite arbitrary and so this doesn't really affect it critically, but even a fraction of a second can impact our lives in the strangest of ways. (Our biological clocks, bird migration patterns...) NIST wields quite a bit of power, if you think about it.
