How about some more 2D Castlevania on the PS2 or other current system? If I recall correctly, Harmony of Dissonance was originally targetted at the PS2. While it was still a decent game on it's own, a lot of my interest was lost when I found I'd be playing it on my GBA player instead.

Konami really knows how to harness the goodness of 2D design and gameplay to where it still appeals to a lot of gamers today. I'd really like to see one of these designs with the quality of Aria of Sorrow, but utilizing the powers of the PS2. Would make for some truly amazing experiences and would also revitilize the vision that Symphony of the Night brought to the PS1 when everyone thought 2D was dead *then*.

I like how konami is reusing their game engine to produce quality games instead of trying to constantly top their last game's graphics; while not bothering with story. I mean, Silent Hill 3 was far superior to Silent Hill 2 in so many ways. Hopefully SH4 will be better story wise, and I want to explore Silent Hill more in 4!!!!

The GBA Castlevania's have obiviously been successful with this model, so where's our full blown SOTN sequel? It would be easy for that team -- they made the original game, they know what to do. I'm sure that Konami MUST have considered working on such a game, but held back because of market conditions and fears of poor reviews by the same stupid people who lambasted Capcom for the Street Fighter series over the years (you know the type, the ADHD patients who are easily distracted by shiny metal obje....oh, a dime on the floor).

When I first heard of that the Lament of Innocence team was comprised largely of people who had worked on SOTN, I figure they were doing that, but instead they rejected the RPG elements of SOTN and went for something that owes as much to Devil May Cry as it does to SOTN. Personally, I was disappointed. Given the high esteem people generally hold SOTN in (and the popularity of the GBA Castlevanias) you'd think that Konami would greenlight something like this. Maybe with the PS2 getting into the later part of its life cycle, they'll be willing to take a slight risk on something like this.

The only thing setting it apart from that success was it lacked the glitz of production, but that just means it's 100% gameplay and there's nothing wrong with that either.
