Where Will IBM Drop Windows?
TurboProp writes "An article by the Associated Press on Friday (1/09/2004) Says that IBM has plans to abandon Microsoft operating systems on it's internal desktops by the end of 2005. The news originated from an internal IBM memo published by the Inquirer, a British technology news site. Further stories from the Inquirer, indicate that IBM May already have begun dumping windows. While this all bodes well for Linux users, and would seem to be a good PR move for IBM, executives at IBM seem to be trying frantically to put a much milder spin on the story. They say that the memo was taken out of context. I really can't imagine why they wouldn't be posting it on billboards."

i bet if he used a linux based oven he could get a 33% better taste out of the pie. just imagine a beowulf cluster of linux ovens you could heat up grits at a staggering rate and with your linux sewing machines you could build better hot pants with which to put them in!

howard dean is living proof of pt barnum's maxim that there's a sucker born every minute. i read your site. c'mon, dean has flip-flopped more than an olympic gymnast. your party has some good men, like joe lieberman, yet he can't even get above 10%. get rid of your anger, and ask yoruself what has bush really done. other than the war, which face it, we could find 100,000 barrels of toxin, 1000 nuke wraheads, and you'd still be against the war. let's look domestically. yes, the tax cuts go to middle income people. even dean realized this, as his new payroll tax cut plan acknowledges. bush has spent tons of education, enacted a huge medicare drug bill, imposed steel and lumber tariffs, and has even just proposed a sort of amnesty plan for illegals. even dean said he was a moderate, and by all rights, he is. can you people nominate either gephardt or lieberman, and let the country have a real debate. not that i agree with either of them, but both at least take national security seriously. and both are good people. time for the mujahadean to grow up.
