Let's talk about the NFL playoffs. I'm deeply disappointed in this season so far. The Rams got beat, then the Chiefs. The Titans were too banged up to beat the Patriots. Then the Eagles bumbled their way past the Packers. What are we left with? There is no way the Colts (a dome team) can be the Patriots at the Razor. Panthers vs. the Patriots in the superbowl? Maybe the Partiots will play the Eagle but McNabb has the curse of the Chunky Soup commercials against him.

The Rams had some glaring weaknesses with their team. Special teams was a disaster for most of the season. The running game wasn't what it used to be, and Marshall Faulk isn't the same player he was before all the knee problems. And most of all, Marc Bulger just isn't a good quarterback. They're not going to win with Bulger, and if they want to dump Kurt Warner, should take a shot and get a young quarterback in the draft, even if it means trading up. I'd like to see someone like Eli Manning in a Rams uniform.

The Chiefs were obviously going to get upset. It's a testament to their offense that they only lost by one touchdown. Their defense just wasn't enough to win in the playoffs. Their losing doesn't surprise me, especially to another team with an offense almost as good as their own.

The Panthers aren't really that good. Without a healthy Stephen Davis, I don't think they can win at Philly. McNabb isn't that good of a quarterback, but the defense is what will win them the NFC championship.

And I'm going to pick an upset over in the AFC and take the Colts over the Patriots. The Patriots have had a great run and it's hard to pick against them, especially at home. The idea that dome teams can't win on the road outdoors just isn't that true. The Colts' running game, with Edgerrin James, is good enough that they won't live or die by the pass. I think their improved defense also is a big plus for their chances to win on the road. I say the Colts can (and will) pull off the win in New England.
