Seth Schoen Reveals Himself Author of DeCSS Haiku

TrinSF writes "The anonymous author of the DeCSS Haiku has written an article revealing his identity and explaining some of the background. The haiku has been featured in the Gallery of CSS Descramblers and attained some notoriety when it was published in 2001. I'm glad to have played a small role in the article; my comment on /. is included in the text." Apologies to Seth for dropping a "c" from his surname.

    Yeah, thanks to you I lost my moderation privileges! That was the last comment I ever moderated.

    I'm still bitter about that. I've been a member here for 5 years, have excellent karma, but I can't moderate because of some jackass admins.

    I'm pretty sure that I didn't moderate in that thread, but I haven't been given mod points in months. I used to have them all the time. How does one find out if one has been banned from moderating, I wonder?

    Not that I particularily care.

    I lost moderating access when I logged in one one ip address with both my userids (I had one for home and one for work and ended up using the wrong one when cookies reset etc..).

    Anyway i'm not that bothered, been there done that.
