What's the Point of Building a Home Theater PC?

They discuss why Building a HTPC only makes sense if it can do something better than any other commercially available solution, as well as why HTPC should integrate act like a component not a computer.     Linux support is not everything, nor should it be considered as a sole deciding factor in the building of a PC.

    I do not run Linux, nor do I have any plans to on my desktop, thus Linux support for it matters less to me then your meaningless opinion.

    I've often thought /. should automagically mirror the text of articles as a "courtesy" to sites with low bandwidth.

    After all, Google stores text cache so it must be legal, right?
