Microsoft Sits on Security Flaw for Six Months
pmf writes "Yet another critical vulnerability affecting Windows 2000/XP/2003 has been just announced by eEye. It is worthy to note, that it took Microsoft over 6 months to fix it. The bug affects ASN.1 library and is remotely exploitable through authentication subsystems (Kerberos, NTLMv2) and applications that make use of SSL certificates." The AP has an overview.
There are a number of open source projects that are no longer being maintained, but are in fairly wide use.
Care to name "a number" of such open source projects? Or shall we call you troll?

Q) Where is Microsoft located?
A) Washington. Just the word "Washington" says it all. A word synonymous with leadership, power, strength, dominance. No one would associate a product, linked to such a powerful name, with socialism or communism. Indeed, the people producing Microsoft exude the finest traditions of America--strength, leadership, dominance in the face of all opposition.
Q) Who are Microsoft's competitors, and what do they use?
A) Everyone knows Oracle and IBM are huge Linux supporters. Indeed, both have announced plans to remove choice from their employee's desktops. Can you imagine working in a facility where you are forbidden to use Microsoft desktops? You would miss out on all the cool Microsoft desktop features...like MS Research "User Detection". When booting, many Microsoft products automatically detect the skill level of ther person at the mouse and keyboard--for example, some power users, if their skills levels are high enough, see a splash screen notifying them they have been detected as a "Microsoft Professional". Imagine the thrill, after all those years of using MS products, to have your efforts recognized! Yet Oracle and IBM users will be denied this recognition, because their choice, their freedoms, are being eroded.
Q) Why is IBM doing this?
A) Look at where their headquarters is located...Armonk, New York. New York! A famous breeding ground for liberals and jews. How much more do you need to know about IBM? They are forcing socio-communistic desktops on their unsuspecting employees, removing their choice.
Q) Why is Oracle doing this?
A) Like Apple, Oracle is run out of Northern California...in the San Francisco area! All Americans know what this means...another psuedo capitalist corporation with a hidden homosexual agenda foisting socio-capitalist desktops on their unsuspecting employees, removing their freedoms of choice.
Something must be done to prevent this loss of our freedom to choose Microsoft products. The unamerican psuedo capitalist conspiracy by New York and San Francisco corporations must be stopped, and the company located in a state named for one of Freedom's greatest leaders, George Washington, must be supported against all comers.
