Notacon: Because Your Brain Has A Right Side, Too

jeffg writes "For one weekend in April, presenters and attendees will descend upon Cleveland for Notacon, in an attempt to break all your assumptions about technology conferences. Yes, there will be a LAN and plenty of technical talks, but you probably weren't expecting art exhibits, live musicians, and weird contests! Notacon will bridge the gap between art and technology, bringing together performers, speakers, and artists from a wide variety of fields. Will you be part of it?" Specifically, that weekend is April 23-25.

I will be representing the Opte.org Internet Mapping project at this years Notacon conference. We will have neat pictures, movies, 3d animations, t-shirts, and various other swag to give away. Ohh ya.. And Source code! We do hope to have the source code for the Opte project released sometime around then (maybe before, maybe at the conference). Hope to see you all there!

Thank $Deity for a tech conference that is NOT on the west coast somewhere! Money that would have gone to plane tickets, hotels, cars, conference passes, beer, etc. can now be better spent on conference passes, beer, hookers, etc.

On second thought a hooker from Cleveland might be a bad idea.

I do like the idea of being able to drive to the thing though. Thanks for not ignoring east coast and midwestern geeks, notacon!

Well, let's just say that while we like heading to the west coast, too, for variosu conferences and events, we know that this area has a *lot* to offer. The problem is that most of us really don't know each other. Hopefully this event can fix that and at the same time explore new territory not covered at those other conferences.
