Yahoo and Hotmail Filter Flaw
gandam writes "Israeli computer security firm GreyMagic Software has detected a serious security flaw in Yahoo's Web e-mail service and Microsoft Corp.'s Hotmail service, which could allow hackers to run malicious scripts on users' computers. I tried sending a mail to my yahoo account and it never reached my mailbox. According to the website, all attempts to contact Yahoo unfortunately failed. Mail was sent to security and secure at yahoo.com and at yahoo-inc.com. No replies were received to date. Works only in IE5, though."
I am sure millions of users will be affected and the internet will come to a screeching halt. Help desks phones will be ringing off the hook with infected machines.OMG WHAT DO WE DO!!!!!!!
I have used ie erm well forever and have yet to be infected by its large number of exploits. This is a chance for the zealots to post their "moz & tb are teh best cause they are not ms". "Since I have started using moz & tb I have made millions, been with beautiful women, and got promoted at work."
If you want security unplug your pc from the "internet". Get a day job and welcome to reality.Maybe this is related to this event http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/03/13/232229 &mode=thread&tid=109&tid=187 ?
Only two days after MS fixed the problem. Maybe some hiccups afterwards?
uh... IE is also released for the mac, so your statement means absolutely nothing.
way to go though, fan boy.

"As a result, Hotmail is no longer vulnerable to this method of exploitation"
It's quoted right in the article. But you morons couldn't pass up a chance to take a cheap shot at Microsoft anyway though, could you?
Stupid fucks.
Microsoft's web technology and extensions make development better and allow for higher quality, more dynamic and interactive websites. If you aren't using IE and Windows, you are missing out, and that is your fault. Standards are changing, and the Microsoft way is the way the industry must follow.
