Eiffel as a Gnome Development Language ?

Thomas Delaet writes " This article is a short evaluation of Eiffel as a language for developing the core gnome desktop platform. Last month, there has been a heavy debate about a successor for C/C++ as the language of choice for developing the core gnome desktop components in. The debate has mostly focussed around C#/Mono and Java. This article tries to summarize the different requirements for a gnome development language and shows how Eiffel fits in these criteria."

I made a change to Wikipedia that sounds right but I know is wrong. It's been there since January 2004 unchanged.

Why not just change your sig to "Don't trust a word I say"?

I am a programmer and I love what I do. Short of moving out of the country I am prepared to do what I have to do to remain a programmer. I find my vocation being called "monkey work" offensive. Yes, the hobbyists started things. They also did a lousy job of bringing computing into the mainstream. Thats why companies like M$ and Apple exist in the first place. Popular ( popular and *useful* to most non-ubergeek types ) OSS software produced completely by geeks 100% free of any business input are in the minority. Steve
