Capcom's Clover - Viewtiful Conversion, Sequel, Ookami

CuBeFReNZy writes "Game-Science has an article mentioning: 'Capcom held a meeting today to show off their newly formed development team, Clover Studio.' The team showcased their first titles: a Viewtiful Joe conversion ('will include Dante, from Capcom's Devil May Cry series, as a playable character') to the PS2, Viewtiful Joe 2 ('new co-op gameplay') for PS2 and Gamecube, and Ookami ('toon-shading engine... nature adventure') for the PS2."

I'm a diehard Nintendo fan, and want them to do well. I don't own a PS1 or a PS2, though that's as much a result of a thin wallet than of my ridiculous loyalty. But there's something about Viewtiful that makes me just wish everybody could play it.

And I can't be unhappy when they mention a sequel!

Death Knell for the 'Cube coming There have been so many death knells for the cube, I'm thinking the knell of death has lost all meaning.

It was never an exclusive, Capcom just thought the game would appeal more to GameCube owners(it's a difficult oldschool style sidescrolling 2D platformer after all) than to anyone else, so they didn't release it for other platforms.

If you don't already own it and a Cube you probably aren't into that style of game anyway(it's a cartoon! Kiddy!).

It evidentally did well enough that they're porting it to PS2. I get the feeling it won't look as good as it did on the Cube(since the cube is really, really good at that style of game), but hey, at least the normal people will be able to enjoy it.

I just hope they don't tone down the difficulty to make it more accessable or compromise/tone-down the style to get it onto the technically inferior PS2, as that would pretty much ruin the game.
