Missing Matter... Still Missing

squidfrog writes "Nature.com, PhysicsWeb, and the BBC all report on the latest results from the Cryogenic Dark Matter Search. 'The most powerful search yet for the Universe's missing matter has come up empty handed, contradicting an earlier study that claimed to have seen new particles.' 'A favoured theory is that the dark matter consists of Wimps (weakly interacting massive particles) about a thousand times more massive than a proton, one of the particles found in an atom's nucleus... on the rare occasions a Wimp strikes an ordinary atom, the effect should be noticeable.' 'Writing in the Physical Review Letters, the team says that while a detection has yet to occur, there is now a better idea of how much dark matter must exist.' They 'hope to improve the sensitivity of the experiment by another factor of 20 over the next few years.' What's 20 times 0? And don't tell me zero!"

My posts are generally modded up, but if I get one or two downmods all of a sudden my subnet is banned from posting. It doesn't take 10 or 20 for this to happen either. It's pretty aggravating, but really it's Slashdot that loses out when I have something to contribute but can't.

What really pisses me off though is spending 15 or 20 minutes researching and posting something to clarify a conversation and Slashdot rejecting it. Then I have to ssh into one of my off-site servers, connect to Slashdot with lynx, and cut and paste everything I just type. A lot of the time I just say 'fuck it' and just don't come back to the site for a couple days.

That would explain this. The editors have been modding every one of my posts down (they already start at -1.) Some are modded down fucking twice. I have had two temp bans in the last week. They started as soon as they implemented the one post per day. How the fuck do they expect me to remind you cock-smoking teabaggers?

I remember about 2 or 3 months ago my IP got a 72 hour ban for "excessive negative posting" (i.e. a flamewar that got downmodded).
This isn't anything new. Nor is it unwanted. I don't want to enable any more crapflooding than I have to.
