Comcast Fires TechTV Staff

Bocaj writes "Looks like it's curtains for TechTV staff. A Leo Laporte article says that Comcast has let the entire staff go. 'Per the WARN Act (governing plant closings) all the employees of TechTV have been given 60 days notice. The San Francisco operation will be shuttered by July. 100 of the existing jobs will be posted for those willing to relocate to LA.' No word on what will happen to all the shows or the channel."

    You see, the Indians may be able to program and run call centres pretty well, but they can't colour in between the lines all that well.

    Anime owns what now? I'd say CG is the cream of the crop. But then Simpsons seems to be most successful animated series going, and its neither. I don't see a whole lot of Anime outside of eMule, and Cartoon Network.

    All I ever see on techtv is the screen savers show, which sucks. I mean this show REALLY sucks. I can't stand it. This isn't a loss. YAY for comcast.

    It seems to me TechTV served a few very useful purposes, not the least of which was providing free, quality phone support to callers.

    Do you really think those were "real" callers? Didn't you know everything on TV is scripted and made up? Why introduce unknown variables to your formula when you can script more interesting in concept and solution?

    Sorry to hurt your feelins modder, but it's the truth. It's how the medium operates. It's the "magic" of TV. My comment was in no way intended to start a fight, but simply express the way things work. Oh well, it's Slashdot....

    YO! This is not a troll. It's the fucking truth, you goddamn moronic mods. I mean, Sweet Jesus, have you ever watched TechTV. Watching TechTV ranks right above "poking my eyes out with a melon scooper" on the list of things I'd do if I had too much spare time on my hands.
