Microsoft Releases WTL To SourceForge
prostoalex writes "Microsoft's WTL (Windows Template Library) toolkit source code has been released to SourceForge.net [also part of OSDN, like Slashdot.] InternetNews explains that the toolkit allows a Windows developer to create quick GUIs in C++. According to the project page, WTL extends ATL (Active Template Library) and provides a set of classes for controls, dialogs, frame windows, GDI objects, and more. WTL is licensed under CPL, which is the license Microsoft chose for the SourceForge release of the WiX installer."
For some reason, the only thing I can see coming out of this is a big bite in the ass...
The perfect sig is a lot like silence, only louder
Step one become your enemy
This is one of the first steps for MS to stop the Linux juggernaut that open source has built. It is appealing to the developers of open source with free windows development tools. Because when it comes down to it Linux without the backing of all the free, as in beer, software would not be a threat to MS let alone a productive OS. If all the zealots out there would step off there soap boxes and simply admit that Linux is a pain in the ass to use, configure, setup, has terrible unfriendly unresponsive gui are just some of the things that I cant stand about Linux. For these reason I will gladly pay MS money to have an OS that just works. If you say that Linux has reached that point that it just works then you are a zealot. Anyway, one of the strong selling points that Linux has at this point is the numerous applications that run on Linux. MS would appreciate all you oss developers producing commercial quality products that are free for windows for multiple reason, including the destruction of one of the only arguable advantages that Linux holds over windows. So this is not really MS trying to join the OSS community but and attempt to neutralize the movement that OSS has created around Linux.
... and it doesn't run Linux.
Plus, Richard Stallman won't come over to your house and lick your asshole for you. Everybody needs to know it's RMS approved to be any good.
If it ain't RMS rimming compatible, it's crap!
Microsoft, or more specifically the LEADERSHIP of Microsoft, has consistently shown themselves to be the closest thing to an organized crime racket we have in the computing industry. Don't take my word for it; it's a matter of public record.
Microsoft has demonstrated no change of heart. Bill Gates and his capos have everything to lose from open source, and have demonstrated no understanding of how to evolve their business model to fit with the opensource juggernaut. (Compare and contrast with today's IBM.)
So my point is: how the hell can ANYONE trust ANYTHING Microsoft does anymore? If Bill Gates shows up at your house with a million dollar check, the first thing you should do is write your will. These guys play for blood, they know no mercy, and there is always a catch.
So when I see that Microsoft has dumped some source code on sourceforge, the only thing that comes to mind is: where's the booby trap. Because it is there. You can take the code, build off of it, think you got something for nothing -- but you are dead wrong.
You know what they say about those who don't learn from history...
You are a faggot cock-sucker.
The really simple theory is that you get good grades in school and cheat in FPS games when you're not tossin' salad.
