michael moore is very hungry. he needs higher taxes to fund a special mOOre subsidy that in turn buys him vast quantities of bulk food (the kind used in school cafeterias). without this assistance he will surely starve. Here's a conversation he had with his lunchlady:

"mr. mOOre, how many pickles would you like?", asked the lunchlady.
"uh i think i'd like the lot of all 39 jars, in a trough, mixed up with some eggs and beans.", said michael.
"you look very slim today. are you sure you don't want anything else?"
"slim is the word! i lost 35 pounds last night, which takes me down to 928 pounds. ...
i think i'll also have some pizza and cottage cheese, also in the trough."
"you must have lost all that weight during your BM, michael."
"i think i did, too. my mom's going to have a very tough time cleaning it up, but then again, this happens every three days anyway."
"your trough is ready. i hope this lasts you until you disgrace yourself again at cannes."

That's a really adult of you.

The fact remains that Michael Moore is a highly respected documentarist. Bowling for Columbine was a bullseye worldwide and Fahrenheit 9/11 looks to be the sane,

Too bad you Americans don't appreciate his talent.

This is quite true. Michael Moore is a well-known blowhard fatass whose "documentaries" are a blend of fiction and context-dropping splicing.

His work is just as wretched as his disgusting, overstuffed body is.

Then why are his documentaries respected worldwide?

Could it be that the rest of us aren't so hung-up about carrying around guns or driving around in SUVs?

I'm 42 years old and I've never needed a gun or an SUV.

If someone who was even slightly on the right side of center did 'documentaries' that were as biased and inflamatory as Moore's are, people like you would be screaming for them to be drawn and quartered. And don't tell me it isn't so, I see what left wingers say about FOX news, Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh all the time. Seems they think that free speech only applies to liberals, and it isn't enough that all of the other major cable and broadcast news outlets are left of center, they still can't bear anyone who isn't being on the air. I'm no fan of FOX News, or Rush, but I personally find that amazingly hypocritical. At least most of the right-wingers aren't quite as vocal about protecting the 1st Amendment and then slamming it when it doesn't suit them. Not that they are without their own faults, but for the most part it doesn't seem like the left-wing dominated Hollywood machine will give anyone not left of center the opportunity to make movies outside the action-adventure genre. Documentaries should focus on the facts and try to present a fair and balanced view of the subject. Moore obviously does not make any attempt at this, instead his work is a vehicle to advance his own extremist political agenda. He's certainly got a right to express his opinion, but what he does can't objectively be called documentary, its pure propaganda.

And before you jump to the conclusion that I'm a right winger, don't. Plenty of my political views make the right wing just as pissed off as others do the left. Whether I need a gun or an SUV shouldn't be the issue. There are a lot of things I don't think people need, but that I do not want to see them banned from owning if they see fit. Personally I want to protect ALL of the bill of rights, not just pick and choose the ones I like or that are convenient for me right now like both the right and left wing seem to want to do.
