World Computer Chess Championships Underway

How will the open source chess engine Crafty do against the proprietary closed engines? Will the computers play more interesting chess than their human counterparts?"
Yay, nothin like a room of computers brute forcing millions of chess positions to see which one is the best chess player out there. Whats next, computers playing backgammon,chineese checkers?. . . oh wait. . Meh, i love this stuff, i put Deep Fritz 8 up on yahoo on my dual athlon 3000+. . . i love always winning.

All five of the players listed as from USA have blatantly obvious Russian (and one Japanese) names. Looks like no native players in this one (again). Alas, purely intellectual pursuits are frowned upon in these here parts.
