Netcraft: Red Hat Still Top Linux Server Distro

darthcamaro writes "Looks like Red Hat is still the #1 distro according to Netcraft stats cited by Internetnews.com. Gentoo is now the fastest growing, replaced Debian which was the fastest growing distro just six months ago...and as we all know, and as the article rightly points out, the stats aren't accurate cause most webserver admins disable version reporting...right? So if all version were known, what would be the #1 distro for hosting? Read the Netcraft stats (without the context that they're BS) here"

It's sad to see FreeBSD die, it was once a big part of my life. But seriously after a few months with Linux, going back to FreeBSD is hell. It's ocward, non intuative, and routes packets funny.

Why the hell can't I type:
    route -n
ipnat kinda blows. Have you ever had to build a VPN tunnel using Vtun on FreeBSD, it is terrible...

As for OpenBSD, nice OS, but I hate theo, so I don't care

Lets hope FreeBSD can bring some of there tools up to a bit more modern era.
I know ... don't fix something that isn't broken, but really one must admit FreeBSD is a little bit of a pain in the butt.

  2. John Kerry...Red Sox Fan....Yeah right by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Offtopic
The local Fox affiliate in Boston was all over John Kerry who has been claiming to be a die-hard Red Sox fan. I saw Kerry at a Red Sox game about a month ago. The die-hard fan left in the 4th inning. At least when Affleck, Damon, or Couric come to games, they stick around for the whole game.

Anyways, Kerry mentioned during a speech today (not sure where) one of the Red Sox players named Manny Ortez. Apparently Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz had a legal gay marriage here in MA and Manny Ortez is their love child. The die-hard fan doesn't even know one of the star players on the Red Sox's name.

Nice try Johnny Boy...you never fooled any of us. You're a total phoney. Maybe he's spent too much time target shooting. Anyways, just thought I'd let you know we got some Kerry bashing on the local Boston news.
