thrash242 writes "After much re-re-re-rechecking, the official Doom 3 site finally has some real content, instead of just 'Coming soon' - it also confirms the August 3rd ship date. Woohoo!"

In case you haven't seen it, there's a video of the G4 Tech TV show featuring Doom 3 ingame footage. Plasma Gun, BFG, Lost Soul, Reveant...

Maybe it's Slashdotted. All I get is a full screen window with a white background and black area down the side. No text, pictures, or animations.
Yes. It's called the first site you enter (http://www.doom3.com). You can browse through the screenshots, trailers, and game information without even clicking that "Enter Flash Site" link.

Trent backed out last year just before the summer. He said he was tired of pissing around waiting for Id's famous "when it's done" crap. Says as much on the NiN site.
Yeah...the first screen looks fine, but if I click "enter the flash site", all I get is an empty black sidebar on the left and a large blank white section on the right.
Works in Konqueror, though.

According to Todd Hollenshead's plan file : Mac and Linux: Unfortunately I don't have dates for either of these. However, Linux binaries will be available very soon after the PC game hits store shelves. There are no plans for boxed Linux games. More remains to be done for the OSX version of DOOM 3 and that will take some time. We won't release the OSX version until it's just as polished as the PC version. The date for OSX DOOM 3 remains "when it's done", but I can confirm that it's definitely coming. Here's a link to the plan at Blues http://www.bluesnews.com/plans/6/
The website for the United Areospace Corprotation has also gone live. All it is doing right now is counting down. It shows about 15 days left.
Architectural plans are like computer source code with a couple of differences: You only compile once.
This first Doom 3 tourney will be held in Dallas August 7th-8th. See you there.
ignorance is bliss. googlefiberatx.com
ID has stated that the focus is definately on the single player experience, but there is a multiplayer component. The first tournament will be held at QuakeCon. =)
it will ship with a Linux version so there is no need to resort to that... unless of course your other OS is actually still BeOS.
Your CPU is not doing anything else, at least do something.
For those of you using ECN be reminded that the website is a ECN blackhole[1] and will not load if you don't disable ECN or strip off the ECN bits from the header.
For you Linux-users, it can easily be done with "iptables -t mangle -A POSTROUTING -p tcp -d 208.50.55.160 -j ECN --ecn-tcp-remove".
