...but RvB is just fine in my book.

Sure, it's not always universally side-splitting funny, but what form of entertainment is?

I say keep watching if you like it, and move on if you don't - no need to get all philosophical about it.

I was worried that it was basically over after the first season, but the 2nd season has had its moments as well (like Doc's "Okay, but I don't think it'll stick.").

Given the cost of admission - FREE, pay for the high res episodes or DVDs if you like it enough - how can anyone complain? It's not like someone's holding a plasma rifle to your head and making you watch it...

(ps. Episode 2 of the first season is still my favorite - "Griff - chupa-thingy, how 'bout that? I like it....it's got a ring to it....")

Somewhere along the way, Season 2 marked where RvB jumped the shark. I'm not exactly sure when. RvB works the best when there's interaction between characters or when they riff on gameplay elements. Sadly, this season they drifted off into spirit posession, evil spirts and reincarnation. For some reason, when there's a plot it isn't funny.

What do you think? When did RvB jump the shark to you, if ever?

I still think it's funny. I actually kinda like the plotline they've got going. Better than them sitting around joking about what to call their vehicles or who keeps hogging the sniper rifle every single episode. There's only so many jokes about Halo CTF you can make, and IMHO they used most of them up in season 1. I doubt they'd be doing a season 3 if they hadn't added a more serious plot (and consequently, more material to work with) to the series.

I hear everybody whining about how RvB ain't that great any more, and you know what? Few extremely popular shows really are. Take the Simpsons for example, sure, I enjoy watching it, and laugh hard every now and then, but its hardly as side splittingly funny as it once was.

RvB is the same, although I tend to laugh more than I do with the Simpsons because it fits my style of humor better (more random). Plus, its free for the low res. So I really don't see what the problem is. Frankly, if you think you can do better, then by all means go right ahead. Its certainly not easy to write a script for something like this. I'm planning on making a free web-distributed tv show this year for my senior project, and frankly, once you start looking at whats involved (mine uses actors, so its a bit more complicated in some ways, a bit less in others) it is fucking DAUNTING.
