Red vs. Blue Season 2 Hits DVD on August 2nd

pretzelsofwar writes "The popular Red vs. Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronicles from redvsblue.com, releases its Season 2 DVD shipping August 2nd. The DVD is available for pre-order if you haven't already contributed to the website for Season 2, which is freely downloadable in lower-quality formats. It is not yet known when and if Season 3 will begin, but many await the arrival of this machinima series based off of Microsoft and Bungie's Halo: Combat Evolved."

    Yes, I watched RvsB S1, yes it was funny, but much of it was pointless filler. The only thing I remembered through it all was a conversation that went something like "We're out here in the middle of nowhere defending the blue flag, why, because the red guys are over there with a flag of their own. Its fucking stupid! If we left there would be no blue flag for them to capture and no point in defending their red flag!"... something like that.

    Now its kinda cool seeing the Red VS Blue guys at Bestbuy on the X-box displays doing commercials, gives you a warm grass roots feeling inside, but thats a topic for another rambling.

    I think it's _really hard_ to write that stuff. Given you get what you pay for (if you d/l it) it wasn't too bad. An amateurish effort on the way to, hopefully, much better work in the future. Criticizing RvB is kind of like criticizing the "Santa versus Jesus" original SouthPark.

    Remember, the value isn't in the art but in the artist and their potential to develop. Sure, RvB is not Williams Street, but do you think given a few years of practice the writers could land something worthy of Adult Swim? I'd say so.
