The "Return" of Java Discussed

An anonymous reader writes "Following on from the marvelous recent James Gosling interview highlighted in Slashdot last week, it would seem that a renewed momentum is building up for his cross-platform creation, if this editorial is anything to go by. It's called 'Java is Back!' But did it ever go anywhere?"

Agreed...it has been proven...and is told to me by every comp sci prof i've had...java is 4 to 6 times SLOWER than c++. The compile at runtime environment is abhorrently slow. Last semester i had the honor of taking a CS course from Bjorne Stroustrup, the inventor of C++. Stroustrup is currently working on a new C based language that will blow Java out of the water. Seriously guys...keep javascript...trash Java!
