Researchers from UCLA have seem to have found that liberals have, on average, a more active amygdala than conservatives. According to the article, studies of stroke victims "have persuasively shown that the amygdala plays a key role in the creation of emotions like fear or empathy." So is this scientific "proof" that liberals tend to be more compassionate but also more cowardly? [DISCLAIMER: this is not a troll; I am a liberal]. Regardless, this seems to have implications for more than just politics. Favorite quote: "Perhaps we form political affiliations by semiconsciously detecting commonalities with other people, commonalities that ultimately reflect a shared pattern of brain function.""

There are two men I know who are both staunch Republicans and they are both the biggest cowards I know. They don't go ANYWHERE unless they have a bunch of guys surrounding them to protect them from every possible danger, including the danger of having their feelings hurt by people carrying signs saying bad things about them.
When they were both faced with the extreme danger of serving in the military they both did everything in their power and the power of their parents to make sure there was no chance they would EVER see combat themselves. They ran away from military service as fast as they could with their tails tucked between their legs, showing a yellow streak a mile long. They are totally cool with telling other people to go get killed as long as they stay safe.
They are the two biggest cowards I know and they are as Republican as they come. Case closed. Theory debunked.

lets not muddle the facts here. I know an equal number of idiot conservatives and idiot liberals. The differences are between the smart liberals and the smart conservatives, the latter seem to only care about themselves and have no desire to waste their time helping others.
Liberals cannot respectfully disagree with someone else's opinion. The other person must have a deffect of some kind or must be incredibly stupid for not believing what they believe. A conservative will debate the issues and decide that they have a difference of opinion not some kind of defect, just a different opinion.
Liberals tend to hate conservatives. It's getting worse too!

It is their choice. Noone cares about "being gay", it's "homosexual acts" that people have problems with. If you are aroused by men, noone really cares. What makes a difference is if you act on it.
All of us are predisposed to certain kinds of wrong behavior, the question is whether or not we act on those predispositions. It doesn't help when society is encouraging people to act on behalf of their whims and impulses rather than on Biblical principal. Of course, that's not surprising since the world seems to be falling further away from God by the day. Such is the price of secular humanism.

Well, I'm an athiest and I'm somewhere to the right of Atilla the Hun. Abortion is murder (simple biological fact, aborted human life == dead human), gay marriage is just a continuation of our unelected judges writing law in clear violation of their Constitutional restraints, sex ed shouldn't be entrusted to the government education monopoly, social programs should be funded by voluntary contributions and not tax money confiscated by force (try not paying your taxes sometime), a rather large subset of Muslims have declared war on all Americans who don't think and act as they do (that includes you) and we have to deal with that, and we shouldn't make environmentalism a substitute for traditional religion.
Most people are wired for religion. Most atheists are frauds who find substitute deities (environmentalism, Communism, heck just look at all the Castro worshippers). If people have to have a religion, Christianity is a lot more benign than many of the alternatives.

The medicare bill was obviously supposed to HELP older Americans pay for prescription drugs, and the truth is few republicans actually supported it.
And it helped few seniors and instead made most of them pay more.

Unfortunately it is simply true. You can try to shoot the messenger for saying it but it doesn't change the facts on the ground.
If you look at any gathering of Republicans, there will be a few token minorities in the crowd but otherwise it will be overwhelmingly white. Just do some side by side comparison of crowd shots between the DNC and RNC conventions. There is an undeniable reality there you are choosing to ignore.
The Democrats, especially Southern Democrats, used to be the rascist party but when Johnson shoved through the civil rights act in the mid sixties there was a seismic shift. Blacks moved to the Democratic party and southern whites moved to the Republicans because the Democratic party turned in to the party of blacks, its why the Republican's have a lock on the Southern white vote today.
You may not find it pleasant, and it is politically incorrect of me to point out the obvious, but as a whole the Republican party is a white men's party. They may well pull in big chunks of the Asian and Latino vote too but it simply isn't a party concerned with or interested in representing blacks.
