Busted For Using Library Wi-Fi Outside The Library
sevej writes "Keith Shaw, in his weekly column "Wireless Computing Devices" (Network World Fusion), reported on a recent entry in AKMA's Random Thoughts where AKMA was using a public WiFi network outside of a library. A policeman approached him and asked that he only access the Internet from within the Library and hinted that Federal Laws against "signal theft" were applicable. Oh, and btw, we're not talking about a person that looked like your stereotypical 'hacker'; AKMA is an ordained priest."
A ROMAN CATHOLIC priest who was allowed by the Church to carry on working after he admitted assaulting a teenage boy was sentenced to four years yesterday for a catalogue of sex offences against two young brothers.
William Hofton, 49, became obsessed with the brothers, aged in their early teens, and groomed them for sexual abuse, taking them on trips and heaping personal praise upon them, Middlesex Guildhall Crown court was told.

Another child abuser then. Probably picked on for the same reason as those priests.
Yeah cops hate people who try to be smart. It comes from the fact that the majority of them were enlisted at one point and went right from the military to the police.

A symptom of fascism is the enforcement of "laws" that simply do not exist, or enforcing laws for situations in which they are not applicable. This incident is but one small example among a million others.
Since the dynamic facist duo of Bush and Ashcroft have been in a position to abuse power, the Secret Service and the FBI have been "educating" local law enforcement workers around the US. By "educating" I mean making them believe that certain laws may be applied in in totally incongruous situations. This is a form of fascism: making up laws as you go along to harass citizens.
Another example is the fact that a pedestrian does not have to show identification to a police officer. The walker has the right to refuse. But in reality, those who refuse are usually arrested, beaten, or both.
This may surprise you, but there is no law requiring potential passengers to show identification to board airplanes with internal destinations. But if a passenger refuses, the selling of a ticket will also be refused.
The Patriot Act is all its fascist splendor is a piece of work that Hitler would have approved and used. In fact he did. The SS had the same vague and undefined powers that American Law Enforcement from the highest to the lowest levels now enjoy.
You're missing the point. He's a priest. Probably hanging around outside the library to "recruit" some choir boys.
If he was a catholic priest, he was probably looking at kiddie porn.
