Intel Predicts Death Of WWW

LostCluster writes "Forbes is running a report saying that Intel's CTO claims that the WWW is 'running up on some architectural limitations' that will eventually cause its downfall. He's pushing a project called PlanetLab that has Princeton, Cambridge, Hewlett-Packard and AT&T on board, but Cisco is notably absent from that team."

No, I think they're saying that we need to buy intel's networking products.. they're obviously better than cisco's stuff, because that evil cisco "may have other ideas"!!

It is offical; Netcraft confirms it: the web is dying.

One more crippling bombshell hit the already beleaguered web community when IDC confirmed that web market share has dropped yet again, now down to less than a fraction of 1 percent of all servers. Coming on the heels of a recent Netcraft survey which plainly states that the web has lost more market share, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. The web is collapsing in complete disarray.

    Fact: the web is dying.

DVD is certainly not "good enough" for me. The artifacting is obscene on any darkened scene with sporadic motion.

You are right, though, that the other improvements make it quite acceptable. I have my doubts about archivability, but I'm sure that this isn't tops on the list of features for the new standard either.
