Auto Accident at SANE Conference Kills One
Several people have submitted news from SANE 2004 that a car crash involving several Free Software developers has killed one and injured two others. Richard Stallman was in the car earlier but apparently had been dropped off prior to the accident.
Christ that was insensitive. There are enough trolls here without that comment.
If anyone has news of Richard Stallman today, please call either the FSF (ask Bradley Kuhn) or +33 1 42 76 05 49 (ask Loic Dachary). We have no reason to beleive that RMS was still in the car but he did not call yet, probably unaware of the accident and our worries. Please Wichert Akkerman, call us if you have more information.
Our deepest sympathies to the family of the person killed.
I've set up a Paypal fund for the family of the deceased and the survivors (to help with medical bills, etc).
