GTA: San Andreas Radio and Soundtrack
crashnbur writes "Rockstar has updated their Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas web site with new information about the game's soundtrack and the in-game radio stations! Two versions of the soundtrack will be available Nov. 23 -- one 2-disc set of selected tracks, and the massive 8-disc boxed set! Rumor has it we'll hear in-game news and weather breaks just like real radio. Audio samples are available on the web site, and a full track listing is expected this Monday, October 18. But no word yet on Lazlow..."
Think we will get Maroon 5?
Chatterbox in GTA3 was very funny, but the talk stations in VC were completely unfunny and obnoxious. Maybe they thought that being more over the top would be funnier?
So it's a refreshing change that the hype around GTA: SA is about it's music and not that it has 6 trillion teraquads of polymorphic bitmaps.
Acting stupid isn't much fun when there's someone around who knows better
Something tells me i'll have it tuned to Radio X for most of the game. Rage Against the Machine, plus a DJ with an attitude? ("I'm Sage - and yes that is my real name. And if you don't beleive me you can go fuck yourself"). Oh hell yeah.
Is it considered fair use to rip a copy of radio stations in the game to listen to it in my car? If its of the same quality as vice city's, its better than the crap in my area. The weather reports are probably just as acurate too ;-)
"if it's anything like the last ones, it'll be great.. too bad more games couldnt have good quality music in them.."
Well.. it is a little pricey to license a bunch of popular songs for a game. I think I remember reading a blurb about Vice City that said they spent a significant amount of money on the tracks in that game. I got the impression that it isn't typically a developer's first choice.
"Derp de derp."
...It will kick ass. I have the boxed set from Vice City, and it is totally worth owning. Nothing better than having that "Living in Vice City" feel as you tool around in your shitty car, trying to drift corners and wishing you had a pair of Uzis.
