Hellooo? I'm over here.. In a country called Canada. WTF? I have moneeeyyy... don't make me buy from Microsoft -- they're already open here; Future Shop has an online music store here with 500,000 songs; Wal-Mart is open here; Apple, what's the holdup?

Some stuff that bothers me in iTMS Belgium:
    - our music selection is a fraction of that of the US
    - people in Belgium also speak Dutch (63% of them) and German. French is cool, but not everyone understands it.
    - we are all the fun categories? House, Techno, Lounge, Acid?
    - World music? Where's our own Helmut Lotti (yech!!)

Also, you may need to consider sales taxes (aka VAT) in your comparison if they are levied on the purchases. It may not account for all of the difference, but it could account for some (particularly when sales taxes can be up to 25% in some EU countries from what I understand).

Will iTunes ever make it to Australia? There's been rumours floating around for ever....then again, Apple are a secretive bunch!

Uh, because 0.99 sounds like a round number. Since copyright is a monopoly, the price of a copyrighted nothing is based on market psychology rather than production cost.

  7. What about Japan!? by baumanj · · Score: 2, Interesting

I don't get it, outside the US, Japan has one of the biggest populations of Apple devotees (they even made Japanese switch commercials). Plus, pop music is an obsession over there. I can't afford to spend $30 on imported CDs, and I'm not going to buy Taiwanese bootlegs. I want my JPop dammit!
